Projects
The Foundation became active in 2019 and has since implemented projects with the Global Environment Fund - Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP), United Nations Development Programme and its partners, and the Australian Government through its Direct Aid Programme. Total value of grants managed to date accumulates to approximately $35 Million Dollars
Direct Aid program
GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP)
This project is funded by the UNDP and GEF Small Grants Program (SGP) and has been in operation since January 2022 when the first activity under the program was implemented. This project has funded the Youth Enterprise Programme for the Jamaica 4-H Clubs whereby 10 agro-processors were provided with technical support and training in HACCP & Agro-processing. The beneficiaries were issued inputs and equipment valuing $1.2 Million Dollars. The final activity under this project was the funding of the agro-processing lab at the Denbigh 4-H Clubs. Equipment purchased valued up to $3.5 Million Dollars and included: bottle filling machine, oil extraction machine, honey filling machines, commercial mill, and several others.
Human Securities Project
The UNDP Human Securities joint Programme targets members of seven communities in West Kingston and Northern Clarendon. These communities are Denham Town, Fletchers Land, Hannah Town, Central Downtown, Tivoli Gardens, Mount Airy and Crooked River. The objective of the project is to empower the community members through the establishment of social enterprises which span agricultural activities and other service-related activities. Grant funding up to $5000 US to was issued with the intention to procure equipment, tools and other inputs for their enterprises including pigs, goats, bee colonies, feed etc.
